Emergency Plan
You will need to develop an emergency evacuation plan for your business to ensure all employees and visitors can safely leave the premises. You will need to consider appointing fire wardens to assist with the evacuation, as well as emergency lighting and signage so that people can find their way out of the building quickly and safely.
You will need to consider how the escape routes are protected by the fire detection and alarm system. Fire doors should be regularly checked by a competent person and should be able to be released without use of a key or any specialist knowledge. You must ensure that fire routes are kept clear.
You may need to consider developing a special plan. A Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) is required for anyone who cannot get themselves out of a building unaided.
